  Notes	He appears to have had a prior marriage, as the 1870 census shows children Thomas, Mary and Elizabeth were residing with her and Mary Ann, however they were all born prior to Joseph's 1867 marriage to Mary Ann Bennett. Tom L Bennett was still in the home at the time of the 1880 census. In fact, in her annontated transcription of the Bennett Cemetery, north of Milam, Texas, Kay Parker McCary notes that his headstone is inscribed: " AT REST - Happy is he whose hope is in the Lord" and that he was the son of Richard Lawson Reeves & Allie Rene Bates ? 1st w Celia E.
