  Notes	Sabine County Reporter May 19, 2004 S.C. "Ted" Hicks Samuel Clayton "Ted" Hicks of Jasper died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at his residence. Hicks was born Sept. 12, 1918 in McKinney as a son of the late W.L. and Emma Edith (Higgins) Hicks. He moved to Jasper in 1935 with the Civilian Conservation Corp. He retired in 1985 after 37 years of employment with Temple-Inland and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Hicks was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Survivors: his wife of over 66 years, Marie McLemore Hicks of Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Earl THOMAS of Jasper and Janette and Jerry CLARK of Buna; four grandchildren, Todd THOMAS of Houston, Tedd THOMAS of Brookeland and Jerilyn Clark WALTERS and Joel CLARK, both of Buna; six great-grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home chapel in Jasper. Interment followed at Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper County.
