- Funeral services for Wanda F. Pridgeon, 74, of East Texas will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla with Brother Jackson Colwell and Brother Joel Hitchcock officiating. Interment will follow at Cochran Cemetery.
Mrs. Pridgeon was born November 11, 1936 in Pecan Gap, Texas to the late Emma Faye (Jackson) and Wesley William Smith, and died Monday, March 7, 2011 in Huntington, Texas. She was a devout Christian woman and loved teaching children as an evangelist with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Mrs. Pridgeon attended First Assembly of God Church of Huntington. She enjoyed gardening and crafts.
Survivors include her daughter, Marie Pridgeon of Fort Worth; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lisa Pridgeon of Huntington; brothers and sister-in-law, James Smith of Denton and Thomas Wayne and Lou Smith of Alexandria, Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Raymond Conley of Conroe; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pridgeon was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie C. Pridgeon; and son, Leslie David Pridgeon.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington.
