  Notes	Her name was missing from the 1880 census enumeration. Pleasant McLemore wrote to his grandniece Irene that Minnie's father, Felix, "sent her to me to break up a romance with a young man who he didn't approve of, I don't know if his plan proved a succes of not...." in a later letter he added that "my wife and I became fond of her when she was visiting us in San Antonio." Her daughter Maurine reported that Minnie Bell was never referred to as Mrs. Gaines, but always "Minnie Bell." She was five feet tall, weighed only 89 pounds, and had a 25 inch waist, being "prissey as she could be." She was a life long Methodist and very religious, not approving of her father owning a saloon, refering to it only as "father's business." She died after a fall when she was 92, hurting her ribs and never recovering fully.
