  Notes	The Sabine County Reporter July 13, 1994, Page 7 Robert Earl "Rob" Smith Robert Earl Smith, 82, of Hemphill died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008. He was born Aug. 11, 1926 in Sabine County to the late Ola Wright and Gus Smith. He had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County and was a retired County Commissioner of Precinct 1. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Little Fowler Masonic Lodge #305. Smith was of the Baptist faith. Survivors: sisters, Eva Thain of Houston, Evon Tappan of Hockley, and Lauree Baker of Cypress. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Ballard officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery. Services under the direction of Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill. (Transcribed by Melinda McLemore Strong, December 2008)
