- Their Marriage license showed him as age 20, of Willis, I.T. and her as age 18 of Oakland. It was signed by C. M. Campbell, Clerk and R.P. Glenn, Minister of the Gospel.
They may have actually been younger as other records show David as born ca 1882, and Mary, on the birth certificate of her daughter Mattie, born in 1900, states, on oath, that she was 17 years old on 12 June 1900, while attesting to the birth of their daughter Mattie.
