Rubye J. Brownlee, age 98 passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 in Beaumont, Texas.
Services will be on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont with Reverend Jim Fuller officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brownlee was born in Yellowpine, Texas on December 21, 1915 to Sam Brown Jones and Lorena Walker Jones.
She worked for many years for the telephone company in Beaumont before marrying her husband. She was a long time member of Calder Baptist Church and belonged to Eastern Star. She was a very independent woman always wanting to help others. She delivered meals for Some Other Place for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl J. Brownlee and her daughter, Pamela R. Stephens.
Survivors include her step-son, Jimmy Brownlee, granddaughter, Kelli Pruitt and grandson, Josh Roberts, four great grandchildren; Tristan Pruitt, Steven Pruitt, Donavan Roberts and Andrew Gonzales.
