  Notes	The June 4, 1948 issue of the Cass City Chronicle had an article about Pvt. Harold Creguer's trip to Hollywood. He mentioned in the article that he visited with former Cass City residents Mr. and Mrs. Grover Blades of Glendale and Mrs. Barbara McDermott of Alhambra. He also noted that one of the highlights of his trip was a meeting with Alton McDermott at the Warner Brothers studio. California Death Index lists his mother's maiden name as FLETCHER. The November 22, 1935 issue of the Cass City Chronicle had the following obituary of Grover's father, John William Blades. Obituary Page Eight John W. Blades John William Blades passed away Tuesday, November 12 at the home of his son, Grover C. Blades, in Glendale, California. Funeral services were held Firday at 2: 00 p.m. in Peace Chapel, Kieftr & Eyerick Mortuary, Glendale. Rev. Walter G. Blossom officiated and interment was in Inglewood cemetery. Mr. Blades was born in Lincolnshire, England, January 26, 1850, and came to Michigan in 1871. he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mattie HENRY of Los Angeles and Mrs. Irene Palmer of San Francisco, one son, Grover C. Blades of Glendale and two grandsons, Clayton Henry and Darwin Blades. Mr. Blades with his family made their home near Cass City for many years.
