  Notes	William was born in Wales, then moved to London, England where he worked as a shoemaker. Later, he moved to New York, then Chicago, and to Lee County, Illinois, where he bought a farm. He moved his family to Saline County, Nebraska in 1875 where he raised shorthorn cattle and Chester White hogs. His farm was in Section 22 Atlanta Precinct which was one-half mile west of the Atlanta City Cemetery (Milligan, p 257).
