- In January, 2012, Susan (bobbymiska@yahoo.com) emailed "I am a Lauderdale and have been researching them since 1980. David Hobbs Lauderdale is the son of Robert Lauderdale and Rachel P. Surber of Lincoln County Tenn.Married 16 Sep 1841 Lincoln County, Tenn. Robert is the son of William (no B for middle initial) Lauderdale and his second wife Salenta Touchstone. I have yet to prove who William's father is, except that he was born in Virginia ca 1767 probably Botetourt County.
