Alton Edward Conner
Alton Edward Conner, 91, of Hemphill, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Hemphill Care Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1915 to Bob Conner and Ada Frances Crocket and had lived in Hemphill his entire life. He was an automotive mechanic and a U.S. Veteran of the Army and WW II.
Survivors: sons, Bob Conner of Hemphill and Ray Conner of Houston; daughter, Jackie MERRITT of Many, La; sister, Gladys JENKINS of Beaumont, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 3 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with Rev. I.W. Ferguson and Rev. Vance Purtell officiating. Interment followed in Springhill Cemetery.
