Notes |
- Per THE SOUTHERN McGREWS GREW she was mentioned in her grandfather's will (James Tate McGrew). The land given to her was to be sold about the time she would mature, and the proceeds were to be used for her education, but her mother and her second husband sold the land in 1844. Mary Jane married John P. Gibson Maddox, and they petitioned for control of her mother's estate, since the land was originally Washington's (her father's), but the outcome is unknown. She and her husband helped raise the children of Mary June McGrew and Ben Maddox, after their deaths.
