Notes |
- Randi McKie, Dorothea's granddaugher, writes that "Mom Mom first married a man by the last name of Leggett and had a son named Dewey Elton LEGGETT. The marriage was short lived and they divorced. She was working as a waitress in a restaurant where she met her second husband, William John "Bill" ALBERT of Brooklyn, New York, and they were the parents of Sondra Elizabeth ALBERT, born 1943, in Philadelphia. Bill was a mechanical engineer. He tried to adopt Dewey, but Dewey's biological father refused to relinquish his parental rights. Dewey was raised by Bill and considered him his father, later taking the Albert name as his own. Dewey and Sondra grew up in Barrington, NJ, and attended Haddon Heights High School.
Randi McKie, Sondra's daughter, added that "In the early 1960's my Mom met my father, Arthur Murray Holmstock in Atlantic City, NJ. They were both working down there that summer. My Mom had a job dancing (not anything explicit, she was a trained ballerina) and my father attended a parking lot. She and a friend made plans to double date with my father and his friend. My Dad was to go out with her friend and she was to go out with his. Mom's friend got sick and my Dad's friend couldn't make it, so that is how my parents got together. Mom gave birth in April 1966 to my brother, Joel Micah Holmstock. And to me in September 1967. Joel still has not married. I married in 2003 and have a 22 year old step daughter."
