Jimmy Dale Smith
Jimmy Dale Smith, 68, of Hemphill died at 9:45 a.m. at a Jasper hospital. Smith was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Hemphill as a son of the late Lemmie (Coussons) and Dalton Smith. He was a lifelong area resident. Survivors: brothers, Paul Smith of San Augustine, and Philip Smith, Ricky Smith, and Michael Smith, all of Hemphill; and sisters, Shirley WILLIAMS and Dot McLEMORE, both of Beaumont, and Frances NEWMAN and Tanya WALKER, both of Hemphill. Graveside rites were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hemphill City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill.
