Maudie Lee Smith Roberts, 90, of Lumberton died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006. Mrs. Roberts was born Aug. 27, 1916 in Hemphill as a daughter of the late Ada (Morris) and J. Enoch Smith. A retired LVN, she and her family had also owned Mary Carter Paint Store in Beaumont for several years. She was a member of Loeb First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Beaumont Chapter #71. Survivors: grandchildren, Barry Wayne ROBERTS of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Staci Lynnette HINMAN of Sedona, Arizona; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kate ROBERTS of Arlington and Christian Andrew HINMAN of Sedona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Glen ROBERTS and her daughter, Sylvia Ann HINMAN. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Beaumont with Dr. Bob Webb officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Beaumont. Services were under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
