Birdwell was born Aug. 28, 1959 in San Augustine County and was a field engineer with Biotech. He was a member and musician at Chinquapin Baptist Church. Survivors: his parents, Carl O. and Helen Birdwell of San Augustine County; a sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Rodney LADNER of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Cathy Birdwell of San Augustine County and Glen and Cindy Birdwell of McKinney; and nieces and nephews, Kelli Birdwell, Brien Birdwell, Lauren LADNER, Leah Birdwell, Kristen LADNER, and Abigail Birdwell. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chinquapin Baptist Church on FM 1751 with the pastor, Bro. Gerald Sowell and Bro. Gordon Knight, pastor of Pineland First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed at Chinquapin Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Directors in San Augustine. (Transcribed by Melinda McLemore Strong)
