- Paul Williams notes that "Nancy Ann is daughter of Thomas Kirby [also of Rockcastle Co.] please note the surname Kirby is [sic] Curby in some of earlier census records." He later added that Nancy's mother was Elizabeth Ecton/Acton.
Paul showed her as born ca 1836 in Kentucky. The 1900 census shows her instead as born in May 1840, also in Kentucky.
She was living with her son Thomas G. McLemore and his family at the time of the 1910 Rockcastle, Kentucky census. She was listed as age 73, widowed, the mother of 8 children all still living, and born in Kentucky to parents also born in Kentucky.
