Carl Alvis McLemore of Athens writes that his grandmother Ada was born on the Gordon homeplace on December 31, 1904, at 10 minutes before midnight. Her sister Bertha Gordon Parker, deceased, kidded her and said she was born in 1905, Ada replied that she was born in 1904 before midnight. She was called "Momma Mac" by her family. Ada Wallace McLemore
Funeral for Ada Wallace McLemore, 102, 1 p.m. Friday at Round Island Baptist Church, burial in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Spry directing. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Mrs. McLemore died Dec. 10, 2007.
