- Shown by Ken Oliver at Find a Grave to be a son of James McLemore and Mary SANDEN. Not verified. If accurate, this would make it less likely James is the son of the Revolutionary Soldier John McLemore, as John's son James married Hetty McDonald before moving to Alabama.
Other online sources, however, seem to indicate that the James McLemore who married Mary Sanden was from the Montgomery County, Alabama branch of the McLemore family ( a son of James McLemore, IV and Mary Elizabeth Harper), and not the Jackson County, Alabama branch.
