Riley H. McLemore contributed by Ron Henson Hugo Daily News, Hugo, Choctaw Co., Oklahoma, 31 Aug 1998 "Riley H. McLemore, 65, resident of Ft. Towson, passed away August 28, 1998 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris, TX. He was a heavy equipment operator/construction worker, a member of the Operating Engineers Assoc. and U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. McLemore was born June 17, 1933 in Sobol, OK to Charles Riley & Elizabeth (Boles) McLemore and had lived all his life in the Ft. Towson area. He was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Allen, and a brother Edward McLemore. Riley had a dry sense of humor and loved "pulling your leg" and delighted in making you squirm. He would be given away by the twinkle in his eye. He loved a mess of venison, biscuits, and gravy - just good food; country music would get his toe tapping, especially waltz's. What really made him happy was fishing with James, Charles, and Alan. Many enjoyable memories were connected by a fish story. Surviving relatives include his former wife, Patricia McLemore of Hugo; one son, Ray H. McLemore of Valliant; one daughter, Jami M. McLemore of Hillsboro, Oregon; one brother, Harold McLemore and his wife, Doris, of Paris, TX; one sister, Siddie Stewart of Lubbock, TX; five grandchildren, Garrett McFadden of Phoenix, Amanda McFadden of Hillsboro, Oregon, Alison Rae Lee of Idaho, Lindsey Kay McLemore of Valliant, Chelsey Ann McLemore, also of Valliant; two great grandchildren, Lane Joseph Lee and Alvin Oliver Lee, both of Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews including Carolyn, Al "Bud", Elizabeth, Hugh, Wayne, Terry, and Lisa. Uncle Riley, as he was known by not only his nieces & nephews, is also survived by Marie McLemore, combination Mother, sister-in-law, friend. He also had a very special relationship with Charles, more brother than nephew. Riley felt an extra closeness with Alan, who shared many parts of his life. Services for Mr. McLemore were held Monday, August 31, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. in Ft. Towson Corinth Baptist Church. Reverend Bob Thornburgh, assisted by Reverend Bennie Hammons officiated. Interment was in Ft. Towson Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.
