  Notes	Sabine County Reporter August 25, 2004 Carl D. "Wincey" Smith Carl D. "Wincy" Smith, 72, of Hemphill died at 8:42 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at his residence. Smith was born July 15, 1932 in Hemphill as a son of the late Alfred Smith and Eve Huffman Smith and had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and owner of Eve's Grocery in Hemphill. He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Smith of Hemphill and Whitney Smith of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his son, Wincey Lane Smith. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. I. W. Ferguson and Bro.
