Notes |
- In 1940, the federal census enumeration shows that Talmadge, age 29, was married to an Elizabeth, his same age, and living in Harris County, Texas. Talmadge was shown as born in Texas and working as a cord wood contractor. Elizabeth was born in New Mexico. Both has lived in rural Sabine County five years earlier. They had two sons listed with them, 4 year old Arthur and 3 year old John S. The Texas Birth Index has listings for a Falmage Arthur McDaniel, born 5 Jan 1936 in Bexar County, TX to Falmage (sic) McDaniel and Elizabeth McDaniel; and for John Samuel McDaniel, born 2 Mar 1937 in Bexar County to Talmadge McDaniel and Elizabeth McDaniel. It is not known with certainty if Elizabeth's maiden name was indeed McDaniel, or if both birth records inadvertantly used her married surname instead of maiden name. She is shown as Elizabeth McDaniel McDaniel on her Find A Grave memorial page.
