- Funeral servics for J.E, "Mac" McDaniel of Port Arthur, Texas were held at 2 p.m. October 18 at the Simpson Church of God with the Rev.Earl Germany, the Rev. Michael McCall and the Rev. Gill Arthur officiating. Burial was in the Welcome Cemetery under the direc-tion of Beauregard Funeral Home. McDaniel, a native of Hemphill. Texas died Octo-ber 16 in Simpson after a sudden illness. Survivors include his wife. Myrtle Jackson Mc-Daniel of Port Arthur; one son, Willie Eugene McDan-iel of Lockport, Illinois; three sisters, Bertie Scott of Hemphill. Sileta Gooch of Newton, Texas, and Vera Crouch of Shreveport; two brothers, Herschel McDan-iel of Houston and Talmadge McDaniel of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and two grand-children.
