V. B. Youngblood,
V. B. Youngblood, 71, of Route 4, Hemphill, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches.
Born July 21, 1924, as a son of the late Harry and Willie (Gooch) Youngblood, he was a lifelong resident of Sabine County. Youngblood a retired truck driver in the oilfield industry, was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors: wife, LaMerle Compton Youngblood of Hemphill; sons, Revelle Youngblood and wife Donna of Pasedena and Wayne Marshall of Tampa, Florida; duaghters, Vickie Beth Nichols of Temple and Alecia Butler and husband Mike of Pasadena; five grandchildren; a brother, Frankie Youngblood of Hemphill; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Aubrey Smith of Hemphill, an aunt, Ida Gooch of Hemphill; 15 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Richard Bass and Bro. Vance R. Purtell officiating. Interment followed at Harper's Chapel Cemetery near Hemphill.
