Nicole Brooks is interested in any photos or information on the slaves of Nancy's father, Sugars McLemore. She is asking because her third great grandmother was one of them and with whom he fathered several children who are her direct ancestors. Her ancestors name was Amanda, and Sugars purchased her sometime around the mid to late 1840s in Memphis and took her to Brownsville. She remained in his household until around 1856 when she was then gifted to his daughter Nancy (Nannie) Dabney McLemore after she married Thomas Cole.
