  Notes	At the time of the 1850 Federal census, a 42 year old (born ca 1808) Alexander McLemore was living alone in household 578/578 of St. Lukes Parish, Southhampton, Viriginia. It is not known if this is the same person. The Southhampton county Slave schedule indicates that Alexander McLemore owned one slave, a 40 year old Male, black.

They are known to have had at least fours sons and two daughters: James Jr., Zebulon, Alexander, Howell, Sarah Elizabeth ("Liza") and Theresa G. ("Tracy"). (James L. McLemore, III, p. 79).

WOODFORD upon a bond issued December 18, 1842 (Southampton Marriage Register, p. 525), upon which his brother James was security. It is said that neither of these marriages resulted in children.
