- Van Williams, 66, of Bronson, died Saturday morning in his home. He was born in Hemphill to Alvin and Mavie Ann Sparks Williams and has lived in Sabine County all his life. Van served in the U.S. Army and was a retired jailer for the Sabine County Sheriff's Department. Van was a member of the Rosevine Church of God.
Van is survived by his wife Christine King Williams of Bronson, his sons; Jamie E. Williams and his wife Lisa of Hemphill, Bryan Matthew Williams and his fiance' Morgan Holloway of Bronson, his daughter Shellie Dorsey and her husband Benjie of Chugiak, Alaska, his brother Billy John Williams and his wife Jane of Bronson, and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 9:00PM, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery.
