    Notes 
    • Pharmacist at Rushing's Drug Store in San Augustine, and inventor of the "grapefruit highball" still sold today at San Augustine Drug Co. Sold Victrolas, and his favorite recording, used over and over in his demonstrations, was the "Ballad of Casey Jones," Thus acquiring his nickname. His Texas Death Certificate shows his parents as Sam B. Jones and Lorena Walker, and his wife as Eva McDaniel (who was also the informant). First name was spelled Latham on death certificate, but Lathom on census and tombstone. His headstone also had a Masonic emblem, and the inscription "Casey, our beloved."
