Notes |
- Anna came to the U.S. with sister Josie in 1920. She married Frank KARA, and he worked for International Harvester in Cicero, Illinois. When he was layed off by them in the 1930s, they moved to the Nebraska farm of Fred and Josie Kotas to work, until he was rehired. Many cases of eggs and meats were sent to them in their time of need to help them out. When times got better, they sent gifts to the Kotas family in the form of clothes and toys and other goodies over the years. (Milligan, p 353).
