- Mike and Mary Simacek came by boat to the United States from their native land of Bohemia in June of 1886, docking in Baltimore, Maryland. From there, they took a train to Nebraska and on the the home of their daughter, Mrs. John KASAK, northeast of Milligan, living near there the rest of their lives. They had two children, Mike, Jr. born in 1846, who married Mary POLAK and a daughter, Marie Simacek, born January 28, 1840 [note this dates is thought to be erroneous], married John A. KASAK, Sr. Mike and his wife Marie are presumed to be buried in unmarked graves in the Kasak Cemetery. (Milligan, p. 481).
