- Rudolph has been on the farm in Glengary Township (all of his life) except for the two years he was in the service, 1951 and 1952. He had a dance band, "Rudy Jay" for several years and played with several different orchestras as did his brother, Charles. (Milligan, p 322).
Rudolph E. "Rudy Jay" Jirkovsky, 84, Ohiowa, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva. He was born at Geneva to Charles and Anna (Korbelik) Jirkovsky.
Survivors: sisters, Mildred DeRosbil, Omaha, Ann McDonald, Geneva; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, Farmer and Son Funeral Home, Geneva. Visitation: 1 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, funeral home. Memorials: to the family to be designated at a later date. Graveside services: Bohemian national Cemetery, Milligan.
