He was inducted into the military service, and trained as a radio and telephone repairman. He served in North Africa and the European theatre during the war. After the war, Ralph worked for the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company in Hastings, Nebraska for some 40 years. (Milligan, p 307, 312).

The day began very sunny and clear, but by the time the newleyweds had reached the bride's family home, nearly 12 inches of snow had fallen. Frank and Anna, along with four other couples, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Capek, Mr. and Mrs. James Kotas, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Capek and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultz were married at the same time by Judge Fulton. (Milligan, p 307).

Dennis Belohlavy writes that Barbara Ann Hromadka later married a Mr. King.
