The daughter of Veronika URBAN and Frank SOPR, she was born in Prague, Bohemia and came to the United States at the age of 18 with her sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Vaclav KOCA. The sailed on the ship "Ohio" from Bremen, and arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on September 27, 1872. They settled first in Braidwood, Illinois, moving to Glengary Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska in 1874. (Milligan, p 276).
