Richard also had a letter in his posseision in which Ferdinand was addressed as Major, and he therefore believed he was an officer in the State Militia, but could not find a record of service. The children of Ferdinand B. and Sarah Elizabeth Balckburn were Gabriel, John A., Mary who married John BROOM, Amanda who married Alex STRINGER, Mollie who married Teal LOTT and Ada who married Tom LOTT.
