Cowdrey were the heads of a household of eight people in total, which included a 12 year old daughter with the initials of O A Cowdrey. Loren was a farmer, and was born in Ohio with his wife being born in Indiana. This is likely Alice's family. A marriage record shows that Loren G. COWDRY married Barbary E FRIEND in Mar 1861 in Clinton County, Indiana. Also, Loren's widow, Barbary A E Cowdrey filed for a Civil War Pension in Missouri, based on the service of her husband for the 86 Indiana Infantry. The Widow's pension number was 915267, certificate number 680310, State Filed, Missouri. It appears that Loren has earlier filed for an Invalid Pension, application number 59361, certificate number 46137.
