  Notes	In HISTORY OF ELBERT COUNTY, GEORGIA 1790-1935, by John McIntosh, he writes that "John Wooldridge took up a land grant in Henrico County, Virginia in the year 1725. He is the ancestor of the family of Virginia. His brothers were Thomas, Edward and William who lived in Goochland County, Virginia....William Wooldridge of Elbert County, was the son of John Wooldridge of Chesterfield County, Virginia. He is mentioned in his father's will." McIntosh also indicates that the Wooldridge family originated in Chestershire, England during the reign of Edward the Confessor.
