- He is descended from the Bonneau Hugenots who came to America in 1690. They intermarried with the Du Bliss, Vanderhorst, and Mayback families of Charleston. Moved to Hemphill after Maria (Swinton, his first wife) died and m 2nd, Jennie Brooks. He served as Dist. Clerk of Sabine County until his death in 1879, in Mobile, Alabama. (White and Toole, p 81).
