- At that time (of the fire of Feb 26, 1918, the Williams) hotel was being managed by County Sheriff Bosco Bright and his wife, Nettie, who was a sister of Sim Williams. They were the parents of Sid Bright. (White and Toole, p 68).

Hemphill, Dec 5 (spl) - Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Parker were called to Nacogdoches for the funeral of Mrs. Parker's aunt, Mrs. Nettie Bright, 87.
Funeral services were held in Cason and Monk Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Neal Cannon, district superintendent Methodist Conference, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Mr. Chapman, pastor of First Methodist Church, Nacogdoches. Burial was in a Nacogdoches cemetery.
Mrs. Bright was a native of Hemphill and member of a prominent pioneer family.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Sue Jameson and Mrs. Verde Arnold of Houston, and Mrs. Hattie Smith and Mrs. Lois Hale of Nacogdoches; two sons, Sid Bright of Natchitoches, La. and Charles Rutledge, Beaumont; one brother, George Williams of Alton; and one sister, Mrs. John Bright of Pasadena and numerous nieces and nephews."
