The 1911 obituary of his sister, Anna Maria Rommel Striffler, listed him as "Andrew Rummel of Sturgis." He was shown on the Michigan Death Index as Andrew Rommell, and his occupation was listed as Retired Merchant, Widowed, and Female (sic)
