Neches died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Golden Triangle Nursing Home in Pt. Arthur. Mrs. Huff was a native of Hemphill and had lived in Pt. Neches 58 years. Survivors: a daughter, Joyce Fortenberry of Pt. Neches, a son, Billy Huff of Vidor; sisters, Alma Strickland of Pt. Neches and Laura Eicke of Tomball; a brother, I. T. Strickland of Hemphill; five granchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland. Interment followed at Oak Bluff Memorial Cemetery in Pt. Neches. (Transcribed by Melinda McLemore Strong, June 2011)
