Obituaries
Percy R. Ferguson, Sr.
Percy R. Ferguson, Sr, 83, of Jasper died Friday, January 19, 2001.
Ferguson, a native of Brookeland, was a longtime resident of the Jasper area and operated Ferguson Grocery several years. He had also operated a grist mill and was a farmer.
Survivors: a son, Percy Robert Ferguson, Jr. of Vidor; a daughter Mary Kathryn Domec of Jasper; sisters May Bell Chance and Bernice Esline, both of Vidor, Abbie Wellenhouse of Houston, Elbie Lewis of Silsbee, and Lillian Moore of Deer Park; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Jan 22 at the Stringer & Griffen Funeral Home chapel, Jasper. Interment was at Weeks Chapel Cemetery, Newton County.
