Jonnye Sue Davidson Martindale, 83, of Jasper died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007.
She was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Hemphill as a daughter of the late Susie Argenta Coats Davidson and John Goodrich Davidson. She was a devoted wife and mother, supporting her family in all aspects of their lives.
Survivors, her son, George Michael Martindale; two daughters, Diane Williford and Mary Lindsey; her sister, Mary Jo Woods; grandchildren, Michelle Martindale Rodriguez, Lori Williford McCray, Julie Williford Carrell, Jennie Williford Holloway, Jessica Williford Merritt, and Tonya Grochoske Lillig; step-grandchildren, Kelly Cole and Kevin Edward Lindsey; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Virgil Martindale.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 24, at the First Baptist Church of Jasper. Interment followed at Little Hope Cemetery near Jasper.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jasper, Building Fund, 314 N. Main, Jasper, TX 75951 or the March of Dimes, Attn: DRFR 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.
