Long before others on the farm had electricity he had rows of batteries and an electric engine in hais basement to provide electricity in his home. Also, he had one of the biggest steam threshing rigs around, a Case. He was the first have an automobile in Saline County. Jan Doupnik 3 July 1855 - 11 March 1932, of Thurston, Nebraska used to visit Robert Doupnik and family. The exact relationship is not known, perhaps they were cousins. (Milligan, p 262).
