Juano Oswald McMinn, 82 area resident for the last 60 years and retired foreman for the Bareco Petrolite Chemical Co., died Thursday at 10:40 p.m. in the Heritage Village Nursing Center where he had lived the past year.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of the Barnsdall Christian Church. Larry Evans will officiate. Committal prayers and internment will be directed in the Ethel Reece Cemetery by the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Service.
Juano Oswald McMinn was born Nov. 21, 1907, at Konawa in Seminole County. He was the son of John Oliver and Susan Margaret (Trawick) McMinn. He was reared and received his education in the Konawa community schools. He moved to Texas in 1924 for five years before coming to Barnsdall in 1929. He married Evelyn Nita Smith on May 19, 1931, at Pawhuska. They lived in Barnsdall, where Mr. McMinn worked with the Bareco-Petrolite Chemical Co. At the time of his retirement in 1970, he was foreman for the local company. Mr. and Mrs. McMinn celebrated the Gold Wedding Anniversary on May 19, 1981. She preceded him in death on April 24,1985 at Bartlesville. Mr. McMinn continued living in Barnsdall until June 1989 when he came to Bartlesville. Juano Oswald McMinn was a member of the Barnsdall First Christian Church and the Barnsdall Masonic Lodge #486 A.F.&A.M. Mr. McMinn will lie in state in the Arnold Moore Barnsdall Funeral Home where friends may visit until he is removed to the church for Monday's services. Survivors include a son, Raymond Leroy McMinn of Green Valley, Ariz.; one grand-daughter, Mrs. William (Elayne) Balke of Denville, N.J.; two grandsons: David McMinn of Fayetteville, N.C., and Daniel McMinn of South Surfside, S.C.; two brothers: Eustace McMinn of West Covina, Calif., and Fred McMinn of Odessa, Texas; and one sister, Mrs. Johnny Weaver of Spur, Texas. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Leon McMinn and Jack McMinn; and one sister, Mrs. Blanch Teaff. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
