- James Frederick Powell Sr. died in a workplace accident. He was employed by C. J. Simpson Company as a drilling operator, and died from fractured neck, back and ribs, with abrasions too many to count, after being caught in a revolving take-up drum on a Gas Well. His Pennsylvania death certificate was shared with me by his grandson, Adam Powell living in Huron, S.D.
