Birth certificate of her son, Glen Ray Powell, shows she was born in Rockland, Texas and shows her last name as FOSHEE. This same birthplace is shown on the birth certificates of sons James Frederic and John Richard, though her last name on that was spelled Forshee on one and Foshaee on the other. John Richard's birth certificate indicated that she was the mother of nine living children, having given birth to eleven children in total.
