  Married: On July 11, 1793, a marriage bond was issued to Joel and "Betsey" THOMAS, daughter of Mary THOMAS (Southampton Marriage Register, p. 90), and Humphrey DREWRY was security on this bond. It was apparently back to his 80 acre place, inherited from his father, that Joel took his new bride. (James L. McLemore, III, p. 65).
