      Audice McNaughten

      Audice Green McNaughten, 75, of Fairmount died at 10:15 p.m. Monday, May 19, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center in San Augustine.

      Born Nov. 21, 1921, as a son of the late George Ellis and Mattie Matilda (Sibley) McNaughten, he was a lifelong resident of Fairmount. McNaughten was a retired timber spotter with Temple-Inland Forest Products and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

      Survivors: wife, Evelyn Stewart McNaughten of Fairmount; and two sisters, Lula Mae SMITH of Hemphill and Ida Exanna CLARK of Clarktown.

      Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. W. A. Hornberger and Bro. Wayne Alford officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery.
