Addie Bragg
Addie Bragg, 91, of Route 1, Hemphill, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at Hemphill Care Center. Mrs. Bragg was born Feb. 2, 1912, and had been a longtime resident of Sabine County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors: a son, Benny Bragg of Shelbyville; daughters, Julie HUFF and Paula BRITT, both of Sabine County; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc in Hemphill with Bro. Richard LUM officiating. Interment followed at Meador Cemetery in Milam.

Billy Joe White, 75, passed away Friday morning surrounded by his family, November 18, 2011, in the Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches, Texas. Billy Joe was born August 11, 1936, to Rex Carl White Sr. and Atrall Lilly Wright White. He was a lifetime resident of Sabine County, where he worked as a logger. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Billy Joe was survived by two sons, Carl Wayne White and wife Elisha of Apple Springs, and Frank Benton White of Hemphill; seven daughters, Sherri Tomlin and husband Jimmy of Henderson, Jana Gonzales and husband Felix of Hudson, Carla Adair and David of Hurst, Nancy White of Henderson, Jean Chaddick and husband Velton of Nacogdoches, Kay Frederick and husband Lynn of Nacogdoches, and Nita Knight and husband Ricky of Splendora; one brother, William Fred White of Hemphill; five sisters, Frances Jean Denby of Huntington, Mary Adams of Conroe, Betty Ann McGown and husband Pap of Hemphill, Carlyon Erwin and husband Roy of Huntington, Jane Hill and husband Ralph of Hemphill; and his sister-in-law Lois White of Hemphill; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Charles and R.C. "Dink" White; his sister-in-law Jeanette Franks; brother-in-laws Lamar Denby and Leo Adams; granddaughter Charoltte Gonzales and great grandson Nathan Watson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 pm. Sunday, November 20, 2011, in the Starr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm., Monday, November 21, 2011, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Meador Cemetery in Milam, Texas.

R.C. White, Jr.
R.C. White, Jr., 65, of Hemphill, died Monday, April 4, 2011, in his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Hemphill to R.C. and Atrall Wright White and had lived here all his life. White was a truck driver for propane gas and a member of the Pine Park United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lois White of Hemphill; sons, Rex D. White and his wife Teresa of Hemphill and Ronald L. White and his wife Mae of Humble; daughter, Lisa M. Page and her husband Michael of Hemphill; brothers, Billy Jo White and Fred White, both of Hemphill; sisters, Frances Denby of Huntington, Mary Adams of Conroe, Betty McGown of Hemphill, Carolyn Erwin of Huntington, and Jane Hill of Hemphill. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Salena Williamson and husband Darrell, Carissa Ferguson and husband Bryan, Sean, Melissa, Sabrina and Logan; and great-grandchildren, Landen, Baylee and Jaeda.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Selena; and brother, Charles White.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, in the Pine Park United Pentecostal Church. Burial followed in the Meador Cemetery in Milam,.

Funeral services for Charlie White, 59, of San Augustine were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel in San Augustine. Burial followed at Meador Cemetery in Milam. Bro. Gordon Simmons officiated. He died November 17, 2006 in Lufkin.
Charlie White was born in Hemphill on October 19, 1947 to Rex White and Altrall WRIGHT White. He attended Rosevine United Pentacostal Church. He is survived by his sons, Chris WHITE and wife, Michelle of San Augustine and Stephen WHITE and wife, Kiley of Marthaville, Louisiana; sisters, Mary Lou ADAMS and husband, Leo of Conroe, Betty Ann McGOWN and husband, Pat of Pine Park (Sabine County), Jane HILL and husband, Ralph of Hemphill, Carla Joyce ERWIN and husband, Roy and Frances DENBY, all of Huntington; brothers, Billy Joe WHITE, R. C. WHITE and wife Lois, and Fred WHITE and wife, Janette, all of Hemphill. Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine was in charge of arrangements.

Benny Ray was born May 1, 1936 in Hemphill, Texas to Chester Lee Bragg and Addie Byrl White Bragg. He was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and a member of Rosevine Church of God. He was a fishing guide on Toledo Bend Lake mainly out of Holly Park Marina. He liked carpentry and building and he loved to deer hunt.
Benny is survived by his wife, Barbara Bragg of Shelbyville, Texas; sons, Benny Ray Bragg, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Many, Louisiana and Marcus Paul Bragg and wife, Mary, of Mesa, Arizona; daughters, Shelia Gail Hall and husband, Gary, of Shelbyville, Texas, Sherri Jo Dover and husband, Dennis, also of Shelbyville, Shirley Ann Cahanin of Many, Louisiana, and Trina Carol Banaszak and husband, August, of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters, Paula June Britt and Julie Ann Huff and husband, Dale, all of Milam, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Chris Sean White was born in Hemphill on August 5, 1970 to Charles White and Linda West. he was an equipment operator. He was a member of the San Augustine Volunteer Fire Department and was of the Pentacostal Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle White of San Augustine; children, Christian Kirkindoll, Crystal McGown, Catelynn White and Traycee White all of San Augustine and Caleb Osborn of Chicago, Illinois; mother Linda West Ponder and husband Phillip of San Augustine; brother Stephen White and wife Kiley of Marthaville, Louisiana; grandparents Billy and Evon Wright of Hemphill; stepbrothers, Clayton Ponder and Norman Ponder; step-sisters, Armanda Johnson, Freida Horger, Mary Ponder and Phyllis Smith.
