Jane Pate Rawson, 87, of Orange passed away at her home Saturday, January 28, 2012. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch of Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Isaac Lowe Cemetery in Hemphill. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday, January 30, 2012. She was born October 26, 1924 in Hemphill to Oscar Perry and Vera (Bennett) Pate. She was a teacher for over 42 years, having begun her career at age 19 in Hemphill and teaching at Little Cypress for over 30 years. Mrs. Rawson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hemphill, the Woman's Club of Orange, Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Delta Kappa and the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Glenn Pate and Harold Pate and sister, Pauline Podhaiski. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Francis Rawson of Orange; daughter and son-in-law, Fran and Larry Hulsey of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Warren Rawson and Patty DeLaney of Houston; five grandchildren, Karen Fisher and husband, Kyle of Mauriceville, Daniel Hulsey of Orange, Dr. Darrin Hulsey of Knoxville, TN, David Hulsey and wife, Tammy of Orange, Oscar DeLaney Rawson of Houston; seven great grandchildren, Morgan and Maggie Fisher of Mauriceville, Brynne Hulsey of Bridge City, Theron, Trevor, Taylor and Dayla Hulsey Orange and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hulsey, Darrin Hulsey, Daniel Hulsey, Taylor Hulsey, Theron Hulsey, Trevor Hulsey and Kyle Fisher. Oscar DeLaney Rawson will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family would like to thank Dr. Castellanos and staff, Gordon and Parker LLP and staff, Odyssey Health Care, Advantage Plus Home, Home Instead Senior Care and Kandi and Carol who were her caregivers. Minnie Myrline Thomas, 98, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas.

Myrline was born in Hemphill on September 11, 1922 to Carroll Lee Arnold and Myrtle Exa Bennett Arnold. She spent her life as a loving housewife and mother. She had lived in Humble, Texas for many years before moving back to Hemphill in 2017. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Humble.

She is survived by her sister, Mattie Paul Green of Richardson, Texas; sister-in-law, Vernell Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lamar. A. Thomas; daughter, Betty Carolyn Thomas; and sister, Reba Arnold Foster.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Hemphill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Clint Yeary, Tommy Scales, Kenon Foster, Cane Yeary, William Lynch, and Kaleb McGee.

Reba Arnold Foster

Reba Arnold Foster , 66, of Hemphill died Tuesday, June 20, at her residence on Arnold Street.

Born Nov. 16, 1928, in Hemphill as a daughter of the late Myrtle Exa (Bennett) and Carroll Lee Arnold, she was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of Hemphill's First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Foster retired in 1983 as a home ecomomics instructor at Hemphill High School.

Survivors: husband, Carl E. Foster of Hemphill; two daughters, Renae' Yeary of Jasper and Kimberly McGee of Hemphill; a son, Kenon Carl Foster of Hemphill; two sisters, Myrline Thomas of Humble and Mattie Paul Green of Richardson; and four grandchildren, Casey Yeary, Cane Yeary, Torry McGee, and Kaleb McGee.

She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Foster.

Funeral services were held 4 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Wendell Ferguson and Bro. John C. Dowden officiating. Interment followed at the Hemphill City Cemetery.
